- Lesson Previews open the lessons with selected vocabulary words presented in context.
- Lesson Words are the new vocabulary words, listed in two sections, along with respellings, definitions, synonyms, and context sentences.
- Exercises include sentence completion, synonyms, antonyms, concise writing, and vocabulary and writing skill builders.
- Unit Reviews and Enrichment include close reading, concise writing, analogies, and vocabulary skill builders. Cumulative Reviews with additional exercises follow each unit.
- Assessment includes a diagnostic test and cumulative test, lesson tests, and answer keys.
