Lesson Walkthrough
Each lesson begins with an Understand the TEKS section. An overview of the TEKS standards covered, highlighting the most critical concepts students need to master for success. This section helps set the stage by identifying the key ideas and vocabulary that will be emphasized throughout the lesson. Guided Instruction demonstrates the steps for solving one or more math problems.
Short response questions are provided to encourage students to think deeply and apply their understanding in meaningful ways. These prompts challenge students to demonstrate their skills and engage in thoughtful analysis beyond basic comprehension.
Practice items reflect the types of questions students may encounter on the STAAR Mathematics exams. Each practice set includes a reading selection and multiple-choice questions that assess students' understanding of the lesson’s skills.
Additional opportunities for STAAR-style practice are provided. These questions mirror the format and rigor of STAAR Exams and help gauge student readiness.
Building Stamina develops students' mathematical confidence and endurance through structured computational practice. By working through varied problem sets in extended sessions, students strengthen their focus, accuracy, and problem-solving persistence, preparing them to excel in both classroom assessments and standardized testing environments.
