Measuring Up Express Social Studies offers short and direct instruction and targeted lessons on all tested TEKS. The program can be used as test preparation, for before- or after-school programs, or as an intervention—anytime your students need additional instruction or practice.

Each lesson begins with an overview of the TEKS standards covered, highlighting the most critical concepts students need to master for success. This section helps set the stage by identifying the key ideas and that will be emphasized throughout the lesson.
Practice items reflect the types of questions students may encounter on the STAAR Social Studies exam. Each practice set includes a reading selection and multiple-choice questions that assess how well students have understood the lesson’s skills.
Short response questions are provided to encourage students to think deeply and apply their understanding in meaningful ways. These prompts challenge students to demonstrate their skills and engage in thoughtful analysis beyond basic comprehension.
