Lesson Walkthrough
Every lesson starts with an Introduction section. The Introduction section introduces the TEKS to students and sets learning objectives.
Real-Word Connection: Shows the relevance of math by linking concepts to everyday situations.
Words to Know: Highlights key vocabulary needed for concept development.
What Am I Going to Learn: Presents clear, student-friendly learning goals.
What I May Already Know: Connects to prior knowledge and helps students understand the purpose of the lesson, and builds on past learning.

Students receive step-by-step guided practice and scaffolded modeling.

Short response questions are provided to encourage students to think deeply and apply their understanding in meaningful ways. These prompts challenge students to demonstrate their skills and engage in thoughtful analysis beyond basic comprehension. How Am I Doing prompts help students self-reflect and assess their feelings, promoting ownership over their learning.

Practice/Assessment items reflect the types of questions students may encounter on the STAAR Mathematics exams.

Each lesson wraps up with an Exit Ticket where students show what they have learned by solving one final problem on their own.

Building Stamina develops students' mathematical confidence and endurance through structured computational practice. By working through varied problem sets in extended sessions, students strengthen their focus, accuracy, and problem-solving persistence, preparing them to excel in both classroom assessments and standardized testing environments.
